Why does it take 2–3 weeks?
Because nothing here is sitting in a warehouse waiting for you to order it. Every piece of Ramgarh Crafts furniture is made from scratch, specifically for you, by a craftsman who has spent years learning this work.
The wood is cut for your order. The joints are made for your order. The finish is applied for your order. That takes time — and we think that time is exactly what makes it worth keeping.
What Happens After You Order?
From order to your door — every step, every hand.
Day 1
Your Order is Confirmed
The moment your order is placed, it lands with our production team in Ramgarh Shekhawati. Your piece is logged, your specifications are noted, and a craftsman is assigned to your order. You will receive confirmation from us within 24 hours.
Day 2–3
The Wood is Selected
This is where it begins. We go to the timber yard and select the wood for your specific piece — looking at the grain, the density, the colour, and the character of each plank. Not every piece of sheesham or teak makes the cut. We choose the ones that do.
Days 3–7
Cutting, Shaping and Joinery
The selected timber is cut to the exact dimensions of your piece and the components begin to take shape. Then comes the heart of the craft: joining them together using traditional techniques — mortise and tenon, dovetail, and hand-fitted joints that give solid wood furniture its strength and longevity. No shortcuts. No staple guns. This is the part that makes the furniture last decades.
Week 2
Carving, Detailing and Surface Preparation
For pieces with carved detailing, this is where the character comes in. Our carvers work by hand, following patterns that have been part of Shekhawati craft for generations. Every mark is deliberate. Every detail is made by a person, not a machine. Once the detailing is complete, the surface goes through multiple rounds of sanding — moving from coarse to fine until the wood is smooth to the touch and ready to receive the finish.
Days 10–14
Finishing and Quality Check
The finish is applied in multiple coats, each one allowed to dry completely before the next is added. Whether it is a natural oil, a lacquer, or a stained finish, this stage brings out the grain, deepens the tone, and protects the wood for years of daily use. Before any piece leaves our workshop, it goes through a thorough quality check — joints, surface, finish, hardware, and overall form. If anything is not right, it goes back.
Days 14–16
Packaging
Your piece is wrapped carefully — padded, protected, and packed for the journey ahead. For large pieces, we disassemble where possible to ensure safe delivery and easy reassembly at your end. Every package leaves our workshop the way we would want to receive something we had waited for.
Days 16–21
It Leaves Ramgarh
Your piece is handed to our delivery partner and begins its journey to your home. You will receive a tracking ID so you can follow it from here. From this point, standard delivery takes 3–7 days depending on your location.
